The same cat is found dead twice. First time is presumed he's been hit by a car as he is found by the road, but in the main character's next life, after she finds the cat dead under her bed, is revealed that the cat had a heart condition that caused his dead in both lives and there is no way to change his fate in other lives because of it.

In the beginning of the book the cat dies via car. They don’t go into the death scene just knowing he’s dead and saying he’s dead :) In one life he dies again under her bed as she finds him. They don’t go into it to much though
