A major character makes ableist assumptions about a blind side character. For example, the major character wrongly assumes the blind person can't pick up when someone is upset without looking at them, and at one point the blind person is grabbed to be guided without being asked first. Additionally, a disability is magically fixed at the end of the book.

APPEARANCE SHAMING: For the first quarter of the novel, side characters are constantly insulted by the protagonist in his thoughts and aloud by him and others for their appearances. The side characters are often called ugly, for features such as hooked noses, acne, and burn scars. The protagonist mostly focuses on fat shaming. On one page the appearances of amputee people are referred to as ugly. For most of the novel, the protagonist considers all so called 'ugly' people to be unlovable. The word 'freak' is frequently used in reference to the protagonist's appearance. BULLYING: A side character that is considered 'ugly' is asked out and then publicly made fun of for showing up for the date, though she isn't upset about it as she was expecting it to happen. CLASSISM: There are countless comments about rich high class people being superior to poor lower class people. RACISM: A Mexican housekeeper is written as not speaking/understanding English very well, and her intelligence (i.e. understanding of basic things, such as what the internet is) is questioned by the protagonist in his thoughts and/or aloud nearly every time he sees her. SL*T SHAMING: There are multiple sl*t shaming comments made by a teenage girl about other teenage girls in Lindy's Diary.

There are multiple mentions from ninth graders about 'getting some,' and one on-page scene where it is implied that two ninth graders 'did it.' There are also multiple brief descriptions of ninth and tenth graders groping each other in public. Additionally, on multiple occasions, a ninth grade boy secretly watches people make out and grope each other, and spies on naked women in a locker room.
