This is incredibly common in the show, to an extent I’d advise against watching if this is a trigger

Episode 2 has a torture scene with eye stuff. Once the doctor starts talking about nerves, look away for a while.

Yes, unfortunately Charlie Cox plays a blind man and he is a sighted person. He used blinding contacts to “simulate blindness” for the other daredevil series and may have done the same for this. I’ve heard people argue they couldn’t have cast a blind person as daredevil as the stunts are too dangerous for a blind actor and I think this is misinformed at best, stunt actors already do most of the dangerous stunts, CGI can be used to impose the actors face onto a stunt double for close ups and a lot of blind people aren’t “fully” blind as blindness is a spectrum, a lot of us can do the same or similar things as sighted actor/esses. The disabled and specifically blind community has been begging for any disabled representation by us and for us in the MCU, especially around Daredevil/Matt Murdock. Echo is another related example from the MCU where a Deaf Indigenous character is played by a Deaf Indigenous actress with limb difference, so they have the means and ability to cast a disabled person as Daredevil but chose not to. This is obviously ableist but also has a real world impact on disabled actors who often face discrimination in the workplace and aren’t cast for roles that are meant to represent us, instead able bodied/sighted people take those roles and leave nothing for us or we are type cast as the evil disabled villain or non-plot-important character. Casting a disabled person in a role as a disabled character also allows the actor/ess to help with input about how being disabled looks and provide input/feedback on their lived experience and possible ableism in the writing, which there is plenty of in this series.

One of the lead characters is a nurse, and some episodes (like S1E6) have one of the plots entirely in the hospital

(S1E3) The client they take during this episode is explained to have had “issues” in the past, while he’s on trial for manslaughter.
