The turtle is actually killed very quickly and not "brutally" as described above. This is a traditional Japanese food/drink called suppon. While this scene may appear shocking to Western eyes, it is not exploitative or intended to disturb the audience. In fact, we might view this as one of the final lessons that Tampop has to teach us about human relationships to our food: many of us kill and eat living things.

Animals are killed for food but it isn't abuse. It can be hard to watch but the turtle is killed quickly, not tortured.

Lots of meat throughout the film. Most notably, a whole pig head appears and there is a closeup where it appears to look at you

There is a closeup of a dental procedure for 2 minutes or so. You don't see work being done or any teeth removed or damaged

You see a needle as it is about to go into a mouth, you so not see the needle actually penetrate. It does move toward the camera

Seems obvious for a movie so thoroughly about food, but there are a LOT of chewing and slurping noises as people enjoy their food. One scene, in particular, shows a woman teaching an etiquette class where she advises her students that slurping spaghetti is unacceptable in the United States. Meanwhile, the students observe an American in the dining room noisily eating his lunch, and they eventually follow his lead, to the teacher's chagrin.

There is an extended shot of a woman breastfeeding during the credits, which could be triggering for someone who would avoid miscarriage in a film.

We don't watch sexual intercourse, but we do watch foreplay between a couple who likes to incorporate food into their sex. The woman is topless and the man at different points licks salt and lemon juice and later whipped cream off of her breasts. These scenes are not the primary focus of the movie, and the scenes are more sensual than sexual.

You hear the gunshots and see a man with gunshot wounds. This is toward the end of the film. No gun appears and this is the only incident.
