Based on the official definition of “gaslight”, no (no one is being made to question their own sanity). However, the focus of the film is attempting to convert homosexual teenagers to heterosexual lifestyles by convincing them that they are actually heterosexual.

Teenagers are emotionally abused and manipulated. A couple are disowned by their families on basis of them not being straight.

No but teenagers are made to simulate sex with an adult man as part of their conversion therapy, which certainly felt extremely dodgy.

People are coerced into engaging in simulated sex (they wear full coverage one piece suits for the duration). Read the comment for “Is there sexual content?” for more detail.

Not in a traditional sense, but I would argue conversion therapy is a type of torture

No one is kidnapped, but it is heavily implied that most of the campers are at the camp against their own will (not physically forced but emotionally coerced and manipulated into going and staying).

A man spits (in an attempt to be “manly”). The spit itself is not clearly seen. The scene is quick and not particularly noticeable. A couple of scenes of toothbrushing where spitting is more implied than seen.

Is electro-therapy used?

A person shocks themself with a handheld zapper. It is stated as being for the purpose of aversion therapy (any time they have homosexual thoughts, they zap themself to associate those thoughts with pain). This is entirely self administered and not forced on anyone. It should also be noted that the character that does it admits to “liking pain” and is shown to zap themself mostly for the purpose of masturbation.
(I found conflicting definitions of what electro-therapy is online, so I am not certain if this counts. It seemed important though.)

The majority of the movie takes place at a conversion camp. This sounds dark but the movie is definitely the comedy it claims to be and really isn’t that bad. However, if conversion therapy or being sent to some sort of rehabilitation center against your will is a trigger for you, I wouldn’t advise watching this movie.

A character repeatedly shocks themselves with some kind of electrical zapper prod as part of aversion therapy for thinking homosexual thoughts. However it is later shown that they use this as part of masturbation, so they actually enjoy the pain.

Lots of use of homophobic slurs. One scene in which True Directions attendees are made to hold signs and shout slurs at two gay men in their home. One character throws a rock and shouts the f slur. This is all played as absolutely ridiculous and does not have the emotion of actual uses of homophobic slurs or “protests”.

A woman pretty vividly describes her adult son having heterosexual sex to him and others in the room. She also observes him having simulated sex with another person.

Heavily implied sex between two characters (not directly shown and no one is shown naked)(is detailed enough that the average person would be uncomfortable watching it with their parents). Several instances of masturabtion (moaning, moving under the covers, appearance of hand down their own pants). Simiulated sex in which people wear (their) skin color suits with fake leaves covering their privates. People are shown making out and rubbing their genitals together/thrusting against one another. Lots and lots of sexual innuendos or viewing things in a sexual light.
