Not really falling to their death, the little prince falls down onto the sand at the end of the book, after being bitten by a snake (he agreed on this with the snake beforehand), but it is unclear if he actually dies. He tells the main character before that it will look like he is dying and that he must not come to witness it. The little prince tells the main character he will go home, after the main character is worried about the little prince dying from the snake bite.
