So this one’s iffy. I said yes to be safe.
The mother in the story loves her son a lot, and while she sometimes gets an understandable level of frustrated with him, she is always loving and ultimately acts patient with him. However, a big theme in this book is how her relationship with her son is influenced by the two of them playing as dogs. About halfway through the story, when her son is refusing to fall asleep in the mothers bed, she encourages him to sleep in a dog cage, where he continues to sleep for the rest of the book.
