This movie contains 69 potentially triggering events.
The dead dog is between maybe ninety minutes and two hours into the film; Mollie’s and Ernest’s new baby Anna has her Osage naming ceremony and the scene then cuts to Bill Smith slowly walking out of his house at night, carrying a gun. The shot cuts from Bill to the dog lying on the ground in front of him, then back to Bill, and then to a wider shot of both Bill and the dog. The scene lasts around thirty seconds to a minute; if you don’t want to see it I recommend looking away right after the naming ceremony scene ends, when you see Bill walking out of his house
No physical assault but there's a scene of the male protagonist loudly shouting at / insulting his wife. Also, attempted and accomplished murders of wives by non-violent methods.
In one of the first scenes (at the train station) a man is in the middle of a circle being pushed around and beat up. The audience isn't clear on if he's innocent but it certainly looks like he's just being bullied.
Maybe not sexual assault but worth mentioning here, there is a scene where a man unconsensually grabs a maid round the waist in a clear attempt to be flirty, the woman and others around her are clearly uncomfortable
The sister who is murdered in the woods has the top of her head cut off during an autopsy. The autopsy is done outside in front of a large crowd of her loved ones.
Three people are murdered in the bombing of their house. One of them is clearly killed by the blast but the other two's remains are found under the heavy rubble. They are not shown being crushed but heads-up if the imagery of bodies trapped beneath debris is a trigger.
Instances of violence happen very suddenly and can be very brutal, with an emphasis on the victims being ambushed and on blood splatter/damage to the skull and face.
In the montage of murders at the beginning there is a young mother with a pram who is shot in the chest. The shooter then takes the baby from it’s pram and takes it inside.
The youngest of their children died from whooping cough. Nothing graphic, but there is a scene of her dead body in the bed and a funeral with a child size casket.
at the beginning a man chokes on his v* and seizes with alcohol next to him, which looks like an overdose. the implication is that he was poisoned, not sure if this counts, but it’s worth noting.
A severely depressed character is fixated on the idea that his wife is having an affair with another man and beats the man up as a result. Another character's husband brags about having sex with other women to her, and deliberately flirts with and touches another woman (who's unreceptive and unwilling) in front of his wife to hurt her emotionally.
There's a scene where one of the characters is lying in bed and next to them is a bucket for vomit, which is taken away by another character, but no one actually vomits on screen
The camera itself doesn't sexually objectify characters but two white men discuss attraction to women and what they consider attractive in women in a racialized, objectifying way.
