The heroine becomes the target of an infected man's violent sexual fixations. He pursues her from the subway where they meet to the hospital where she takes shelter, intending to sexually assault and kill her.
A character is stabbed in the eye with an umbrella during a scene on a subway car. Her wound is shown repeatedly throughout the rest of the movie and is further aggravated by another character irritating it on purpose during a sexual assault. (We hear but do not see this happen.)
Movie is HEAVY on the torture porn. About 15 minutes in (and in the events onward from there), someone has their face burned with hot grease, a man loses his fingers, another person has their arm broken, someone is beaten to near death, a man has his nose bitten off, and someone is held down and eviscerated by a saw.
In the beginning, theres a scene where everyone is on the train getting infected. Post infection, theres a woman standing under a light scratching her leg and face to a point of bleeding.
We see one living baby. A scientist confesses to experimenting on the baby in order to see if it was immune to the rabies-like infection that drives the plot, then throwing it in the biohazard disposal bin when it transformed. It is still alive when the heroine finds it. The same scientist confesses to killing many other babies in the same way: Deliberate infection, then disposal.
