B.A. character intensely awkward, literal, misreads - and he is frequently disturbed deliberately by his brother (‘if you want to upset him rearrange the furniture’, mimicking his voice, throwing a tube if cream he values) which is played [unbelievably] for comedic relief, and fraternal love - rather than as deliberately undermining/triggering/mocking an autist. I had to stop watching.
The austistic Affleck character is even referred to as having ‘Forrest Gump shoes’
There are scenes of a patient with brain damage in hospital but I think this is a normal hospital. There are also scenes at the home for autistic children but this is not a mental institution
No but Children are abducted from parents. A parent forgets their child due to head trauma causing amnesia. There is also a reference to the fact that the protagonists were abandoned by their mother.
There are women in fight scenes, and they do get hurt. Personally I see it as plot relevant and not for spectacle but that's arguable, so in case it might trigger you, steer clear.
There is a scene where a woman is assaulted and she fights back, for a moment the assailant is between her legs on the ground but nothing else happens and the motive is to kill not to rape. Also, she gets away from the assailant.
I thought this was much worse representation than the first film as it implies that all autistic people are geniuses. It skips also over stimming and sensory issues etc, only really showing the social awkwardness side of things.
