I mean, a child is threatened with a curse in which another character promises to make her life miserable, but she takes it in stride and it's mostly comedic hijinks. Said child is also bullied in school, though.
Strictly speaking, no. But as of early season two, the highly risky behaviors of one child character can be reinterpreted as suicidal ideation in the context of his desire to remain separated from his living body in ghost form when he feels like his friends and family don't love him for him.
yes if you count scratch having to “eat” libby and molly to take them up in the air in “all night plight” it’s hard to explain in words but it’s comedic and it isn’t really “eating” them
in “a doll to die for” lord doom is known for eating people, however this is just said about him to show that he is evil and is never shown on screen
In “The New Paranormal,” the McGee family meets their new neighbors and one of them is an autistic girl named June Chen. June is a shy, honest and intelligent Asian girl who’s passionate about technology and she loves talking about her gadgets and showing it to people. She also displays autistic traits, such as hyperfixation and not making eye contact. June’s voice actress is also confirmed to be autistic. At first, she is welcomed by the McGee family, but later, (without spoiling much) she and her family are later kicked out of the McGee’s house without them knowing why, but it wasn’t because June is autistic. It dosen’t misrepresent autism in any way, but there’s not a lot of focus on June in this episode. Canonically autistic characters like June, especially female autistic characters of color, are very rare, so for the writers to include her as a new character in this show and to be voiced by an also autistic voice actress shows their support for autism awareness and acceptance.
Not in any kind of truly forceful manner, but there are moments when characters try to hold one another back to prevent them from doing something stupid.
the show is about ghosts so all of them have died | in “howlin’ harriet” libby tells the story of harriet who died by being hit by a train, obviously nothing is shown the screen simply shows scared harriet, the train moving forward and then her toes flying into the trees | in “getting the band(chell) back together” a old man briefly dies (of natural causes) but scratch quickly shoves his ghost back in his body and he wakes back up
There's a scene where a pet goldfish nearly dies, but the titular ghost character is able to wrangle its spirit back into its body, reviving it. Otherwise, none of the animals that die are pets. So far.
in season 1 episode 15 (Scare Tactics), darryl’s pet tarantula is shown. the tarantula is seen for a lot of the episode.
in season 1 episode 13 (Innocent Until Proven Ghostly), there is a flashback of darryl trying to catch his tarantula.
in the very first episode (The Curse), at one point when scratch puts a curse on molly, bugs are seen crawling out of his mouth.
in season 1 episode 16 (Citizen McGee), there is a horsefly infestation in the whole of brighton.
every once in a while a ghost will get a body part separated from the rest of their body but they will always reattach it, but it’s always comedic, the ghosts are very similar to slime and as when it happens it’s very similar to the way animated skeletons will reattach their bones when they fall off
in S1E15 “Scare Tactics” molly falls down the stairs trying to catch darryl’s pet tarantula, if i remember correctly.
in S1E17(?) “Lock, Stock and Peril” pete falls down the basement stairs while trying to kick the door down.
molly does become a wraith (her soul is separated from her body) until the end of the episode. she didn’t die as her physical body was still able to talk and move, but was more depressed than she normally would be.
a stuffed animal temporarily gets possessed in episode 1, “the curse”
another possession in episode 1, “first day frights,” andrea is possessed by scratch during the end.
episode 3, “the greatest council ever,” a bus driver is also possessed by scratch.
yes, there are fart jokes in S1E4 “Hooray for Mollywood!, S1E14 “Goat Your Own Way” and the season finale “The Jig is Up”. in S1E5 “Best of Nin-tensions”, pete spits durian into the sink.
No, but a character does threaten to remain a wraith, or a ghost existing outside of his still living, now emotionless body, because he believes his family loves that version of him rather than his spirit.
in some episodes, libby talks about her anxieties.
in season 1 episode 8 (Talent Show), libby signs up on the wrong list and seems to be panicking after.
There's several ongoing gags with the character, Scratch eating a lot sometimes having an exaggerated belly and being seen as a slob, Although the plot of a particular episode (S1E14, goat your own way) entirely revolves around an extremely long, drawn out fat joke regarding an animal. It's an episode better left skipped.
Very, very, very briefly in one of the Holiday episodes, there is a reference to attacks on Jewish people. Probably a particular night in Germany before WWII. The only shown characters escape to the USA though. But it isn't exactly sugar-coated.
Molly and her new neighbor blush around each other, Molly views him through her crush filter, and they go on a date to a school dance together. But nothing is explicitly sexual. One episode focuses on a character getting her first period, but the subject is treated purely as biological and as a rite of passage into womanhood rather than as anything remotely sexual.
