Matilda the Musical
Movie • 2010
ReportMatilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She's unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly loveable Miss Honey. Over the course of her first term at school, Matilda and Miss Honey have a profound effect on each other's lives, as Miss Honey begins not only to recognize but also appreciate Matilda's extraordinary personality. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace!

Thinking in a claustrophobic way, there's a tiny room of punishment made by Trunchbull, but no child comes to it

Children are tortured off-screen with extreme confinement but it is a major part of the plot and fear, crying, and begging around it are shown.

That being said, if you can't find an official recording of the stage show, the mext best thing would be a bootlegged version, which is bound to be shakey because of it being recorded on someone's phone.

Although Matilda is quite obviously female (and cisgender), her father repeatedly calls her a boy (she corrects him every time) and he refuses to acknowledge that she's a girl until a scene near the end.
