In the opening scene, a cute cow is led off a trailer into a gated area and chained to a post. You see evident fear as something spooks the cow and it tries to pull out of its bridle.

About 3-and-a-half minutes into the 3rd episode, the kids are trying to feed the baby elf bacon, when Kasper comes across the body of a dead black cat whom we previously saw running out of the barn in an earlier episode. It is suggested that the baby elf ate the cat.
