Yes, if you consider keeping animals in zoos abuse. I must mention that the baboon we see has no fangs; I consider it unlikely that it lost them on accident...
Okay, perhaps a cockroach dies; we see it alive in a shower, and immediately after that we switch to silhouette view and see a panicked person furiously beating some big object against the same spot on the floor several times. We don't know whether the person succeeded in killing the roach. --- There are lots and lots of animals in the movie, since there are scenes both in a zoo and at a farm that also serves as a vet clinic. Horse, cows, goat, sheep, dogs, tigers, alligator, lions, big lizard, cheetahs/jaguars, big snake, baboon, chimpanzees, piranhas, vulture, parrots, pigeon... And a dolphin named Bob.
No. But I want to mention that an elderly man (not said or shown to be a father, but perhaps something of a father figure to a major character) has dementia.
This one bothered me for a few reasons:
1) The filmmakers added a line of dialogue, minutes before the death, where the character states that he has no children. It’s like they had him say this line, simply to soothe the audience, while making us think, “Sucks that he died, but at least it’s not as tragic, because he doesn’t have any family or friends who will miss him.”
2) The main character who worked with him for a long time, is never shown grieving the death. He doesn’t try to check on him after he is shot, and he never brings up his name again.
The character is shown to be of less value than another dead character we only see in flashbacks.
At least two: a mechanic lying beneath a car, and people riding motorbikes through a pretty long and VERY narrow gap between two houses - so narrow that you could reach out and touch both walls at the same time.
No, but there's a scene in which someone is treated for a bullet wound at a vet clinic; the person lies on a bare metal table, gets an injection and has the bullet removed with forceps (we see the injection directly, I think, but not the removal).
I don't believe there are any regular cats in the movie. There are a handful of big cats (lions etc.); nothing bad happens to them, except perhaps for a little bit of over-excitement. :)
