ReportSynopsis
Rose and her daughter Sofia travel to the Spanish seaside town of Almería to consult with the shamanic Dr. Gomez, a physician who could possibly hold the cure to Rose’s mystery illness, which has left her bound to a wheelchair. But in the sultry atmosphere of this sun-bleached town Sofia, who has been trapped by her mother’s illness all her life, finally starts to shed her inhibitions, enticed by the persuasive charms of enigmatic traveller Ingrid.

The dog barks nonstop since the owner keeps him tied up on a roof all day. Eventually the main character releases the dog, and later we see it frolicking at the beach. It runs into the water and the main character looks away. We don’t see the dog again.

It’s complex because the entire film explores trauma induced somatic symptoms, but people doubt the mother when she says she can’t walk and is in pain

Unclear - there seems like an age gap between Sofia and Ingrid but it’s not obviously huge. Also the mother refers to her ex-husband as having a “child bride” although she is an adult woman
