Johnny Truelove likes to see himself as tough. He's the son of an underworld figure and a drug dealer. Johnny also likes to get tough when things don't go his way. When Jake Mazursky fails to pay up for Johnny, things get worse for the Mazursky family, as Johnny and his 'gang' kidnap Jake's 15 year old brother and holds him hostage. Problem now is what to do with 'stolen boy?'
This movie contains 12 potentially triggering events.
Not only does the kid die, you see him beg for his life for more than minute. For several minutes before he's murdered, he begs, cries, and bargains for his life. You witness him bound and silenced with tape, shot in the head, and left in a shallow grave in the wilderness. Do not watch this if child death is a trigger for you. It's not even a "trigger" for me but this movie made me physically very sick to watch (just this scene, it's at the end). Good movie, important story that's very close to the real story... But it isn't for the faint of heart and the child murder scene is gratuitous.
