Four years after Isla Nublar was destroyed, dinosaurs now live—and hunt—alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history's most fearsome creatures.
A fourteen year old girl is kidnapped, but she is not physically harmed. This girl is later in dangerous situations but these are perpetuated by dinosaurs not people
Surprised to see so many “no” answers because Dodgson for sure gaslights his employees. Particularly Dr. Wu and (to a lesser extent) Ramsay. Any character who points out the questionable ethics of what Biosyn is doing is told they are just being shortsighted, unwilling to make sacrifices, etc. He even tries it with Ian Malcolm and Ian actually points out some of his corporate gaslighting tactics. Corporate gaslighting is very real but it is insidious and perhaps harder to recognize.
Dinosaurs, including babies, are shackled and kept in small cages. A baby velociraptor is caught in a net and taken from its mother. Dinosaurs are forced to fight in pits.
A white rabbit is attacked by a wolf/arctic fox, and Blue’s baby attacks that, it’s off screen but we assume the raptors kill it. A dead fox is shown from behind laying down, quite close up and is on screen for a while. A mouse is eaten by a smalll carnivore in a lab, you can see it coming. A dear is killed by a large herbivore with large claws. Carnivores then eat the carcass later
Footage of animals being eaten was edited to replace the predator with dinosaurs but was otherwise real. These clips only play briefly during the opening news report.
YES YES YES AND YES. THEY ARE A HUGE PART OF THE PLOT. DONT WATCH IF YOU HAVE A BUG PHOBIA. Giant locust. Huge swarms. Bug sounds. Be very very careful please if you have a phobia of bugs. They are a main plot point of the entire movie.
Claire has to hold her breath under water as a dinosaur is above her. She's not physically held down but she cant come up till it goes. She is ok it leaves she escapes unharmed
when the two dinosaurs are grabbing at the persons two hands, one dinosaur comes and chomps his head off. while it is not on screen, the camera is just tilted up a bit so you can still kinda see it happening
Two people are briefly trapped in a decontamination chamber and cough in a haze of chemicals. A woman holds her breath underwater, but does not struggle.
There are a handful of darts for tranquillizing. Also a baby is shown getting a shot (it’s rather long but isn’t focused on, still bothered me however) There aren’t many but still be a little wary if watching with a phobia please.
Electrical shocks are used on dinosaurs via a handheld weapon or, in Biosyn, are delivered through signals to the mind. There is only one scene where a character inflicts an electric shock to a human, who is a bad person.
A character briefly hides in an upturned car while a giant dinosaur walks around it. The car is not stepped on, but this may cause stress to some people.
(SIGNIFICANT spoiler) When Maisie is climbing a ladder a giant dinosaur starts biting down on the metal cage surrounding her and the ladder. She is frozen in fear for several seconds, in which time the dinosaur's mouth starts closing and bending the bars in towards her. She survives, as she is pulled up to safety by another character.
SPOILER: After getting a shot to the thigh baby made a face of discomfort. Mother cuddles baby and face turns away. (I don't remember hearing actual baby cries, but a distressed baby could still be upsetting for some.)
Not really but the only fat person in the film makes a joke about the donut he’s about to eat. Not nearly as fatphobic as Nedry in the first one, though.
Actually quite the opposite!! Many sad scenes throughout the movie, but the ending - SPOILER - is a good one! It shows the island and says it is globally a preserve for the dinosaurs to live in peace. It then also shows wild animals living with dinosaurs (because obviously there are still wild dinosaurs). Shows elephants running with dinosaurs, whales swimming with dinosaurs, giraffes eating with dinosaurs. Very nice to see.
There is blood and gore throughout the film but it is notable that during the climax a dinosaur is shown being impaled (it dies) and the sharp objects get pulled back out of it accompanied with audio gore
