An American Tail: Fievel Goes West

Movie • 1991 • Adventure

Report
Some time after the Mousekewitz's have settled in America, they find that they are still having problems with the threat of cats. That makes them eager to try another home out in the west, where they are promised that mice and cats live in peace. Unfortunately, the one making this claim is an oily con artist named Cat R. Waul who is intent on his own sinister plan.

The antagonists' whole scheme relies on manipulating the mice to not trust their instincts around the cats, to think of the cats as safe when they are not.

Mice stand in for people.
The villain's henchman is a spitting spider wearing a cowboy costume, complete with gold tooth.
Feivel is attacked by a very realistic scorpion.
A far less threatening cartoon scorpion is seen singing a cover of Rawhide.

There's stylized gun violence in a dream sequence: a shootout in which the characters only shoot guns out of others' hands, rather than actually injuring or killing them.
