For more than a decade, parents Andy and Vicky have been on the run, desperate to hide their daughter Charlie from a shadowy federal agency that wants to harness her unprecedented gift for creating fire into a weapon of mass destruction. Andy has taught Charlie how to defuse her power, which is triggered by anger or pain. But as Charlie turns 11, the fire becomes harder and harder to control. After an incident reveals the family's location, a mysterious operative is deployed to hunt down the family and seize Charlie once and for all. Charlie has other plans.
No animals are shown dying during the movie, other than the cat described in the cat category. The farm that has chickens is safe and doesn’t get set on fire.
Dead frogs are dissected during the classroom scenes. Brief, but pretty disgusting for those who get grossed out from fluids leaving the bodies of animals or people.
During the opening credits, a man rips his eyes out. You can see the aftermath, both on his face and with the eyes on the ground. Also, every time Andy uses his powers, his eyes become bloodshot and he will usually bleed out of them. Eye mutilation is also implied/explicitly shown when people are set on fire.
Happens frequently throughout the movie. There is one particularly graphic scene that occurs near the end of the movie, when Charlie gets in the car with one of the people working at the facility. The aftermath is very upsetting, and this is coming from someone who usually has no problems with gore.
