A teen gang in a grim South London housing estate must team up with the other residents to protect their neighbourhood from a terrifying alien invasion.
This movie contains 35 potentially triggering events.
It's left unclear where Moses' parents are, however he tells another character that he lives with his uncle who, in his own words, 'comes and goes, mostly goes'.
He reveals himself to be 15. So that's up to the viewer if they count that as a child. Or that he's been abandoned.
A character is ordered by a guardian to walk his dog, who then takes the dog with the rest of our main characters to confront an alien creature. The dog takes off after one of the creatures and while we do not see it, we hear a short, distressed whine and never see the dog again, implying the dog is dead. The owner of this dog later comments "This is for Pogo. Rest in peace, dog" cementing the death of the pet.
A character's leg is injured by an alien creature. They treat it and after it it is not a big plot point besides him not being able to run, so I think it is implied his leg will be OK.
One character's leg is bitten by the alien, a nurse treating it says he might have a fracture but there are no sounds of bone breaking or any bone showing
When the main character is searching the car, something jumps out at him.
When a cop closes the van door, he gets jumped by a creature.
When the main character looks through a peephole, the creature comes into view.
The whole movie is full of all kinds of fireworks, sirens, the hallway lights are going on/off, and the aliens have weird glowing teeth. No pulsating lights, though, as far as I can remember.
All of the black kids (the teenagers) except the lead die in this movie. It's pretty fucked up considering the director is white and the movie tries to tackle themes of racism and gentrification in its plot.
Also like the black antagonist/side adult male characters die but not the white ones. It's sus.
While we see blood and the worst isn't seen most of the time, there's at least two notable shots: 1. An alien on screen tears a guy's throat out (about 33 minutes in), and 2. The aliens tear a man's face off and we see his face without his nose (1 hour, 6 minutes in).
