There is very briefly a moment where a love interest grabs Keri Russel roughly by the arm to keep her from walking away

There are taxidermy animals throughout the movie. A woman holds a taxidermy lamb in the beginning and they “hunt” taxidermy pheasants and deer later.

The owner’s husband is a very messy drunk who has a history of assaulting the women who come to the house. The only assault shown on screen is when Jane is coming back at night and he drunkenly harasses and grabs her. She fights him off and the commotion causes others to come running so the assault ends there. Jane references it towards the end but nothing is shown.

If you view unknowingly paying money to be mistreated then this could be seen as a form of torture if not emotional abuse

Lady Heartwright gets shot in the eye with a fake arrow by accident. You see nothing and she’s not seriously hurt. Later, she’s wearing an eye patch but her pride is more hurt than anything else.

No real parents die, but Jane’s fictional backstory mentions that her parents have died and that she was a penniless orphan.

Very light PG stuff. Men appear shirtless. There’s kissing, innuendos and flirting. One more serious scene where a character is being approached by an inebriated old man who makes an unwanted pass (but the scene is rather quickly resolved).
