WARNING For a kinda detailed explanation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In episode 5 near after the middle of the episode it shows Marc and Steven watching them as a child and that’s the first time Steven shows up as an alter- Marc and Steven’s mother yells and bangs on their bedroom door and Marc is hyperventilating and scared and overwhelmed, then Steven shows up as an alter (please note that I don’t have DID and do not know the proper terms-sorry) and then the mother breaks down the door and cuts off just as she moves towards Steven with a belt

SPOILERS!!!In episode 5, Asylum (and maybe 4- the scenes that Steven and Marc are in the P$y€h ward which is actually the afterlife) Where Harrow becomes Dr.Harrow and manipulates them. Marc is fronting mostly while in Dr.Harrow’s office and Harrow says that they had to inject Marc with sedatives because he got in fights (not shown) and he tries to escape and eventually finds Steven again and briefly fights some people trying to stop him- and in episode 5 in the beginning Marc gets overwhelmed and gets really scared so the other two people in Harrows office inject him with sedatives again.

As someone with did, it’s difficult to pinpoint exactly what irks me about the series but it definitely does. Even if it’s a fictionalized version of the disorder, there aren’t enough realistic representations to compare it against in other media. Leading to people assuming the disorder does behave the same way it does in the movie. DID is highly variable, and presents differently in everyone.
