I'm not sure what people are referring to here? i mean one of the characters speaks in kind of cryptic riddles and maybe lies, but i wouldn't call it gaslighting??

Not graphically, although the characters exact method of death is unclear and could have been crushing. One character was decapitated and the head was likely crushed, since it wasn’t found

None of their deaths are intentional, but since they have to decide who gets to live, there is talk of ‘dropping out of the competition’ and choosing to stay dead. It seems to be more about sacrificing oneself for others than a lack of desire to live, though

In the most popular version of the play (2015) Ricky's disability is removed when he gets formally introduced, which some disabled people have complained about. In newer versions (2022), they removed any mention of his disability, only keeping in that he cannot speak "due to trauma". Some of those plays still have him in a wheelchair or give him crutches/a cane. The only version I know where he keeps the wheelchair and cane during the whole performance is one of the 2022 versions (McCarter)
