There's lying to other characters, but lying isn't gaslighting. I'm not sure why people are saying there is.

Shown *MOSTLY* off camera, a woman’s face & head is hit 28 times with an axe. There’s a ton of gross audio-gore so even though it is mostly off camera, you still get a pretty good picture in your head of what’s going on. The aftermath is then shown and the woman’s head and face are mangled and “deeply damaged” as the other comment states.

I don't know how anyone could put no on this. It is excessively gory on the last episode.

Allusions to dismemberment. Crime itself involves deep slices to limbs.

A wound to the foot is recieved during the altercation. Cut isn't shown in detail, but resulting bruises are. Mention of defensive wounds to arms, possibly hands.

Debatable. A woman is murdered and later on it's revealed that she was in her first trimester of pregnancy. So it depends on how you would define a "kid".

The story is about the real life murder of a mother of two. The older child is informed of her mother's death in episode 4 and it's pretty heartbreaking to watch her reaction. You should skip the funeral scene as well.

s1 ep1: at 16:24, Betty uses a sewing machine. camera focuses in on the needle of the machine. the position and noise could cause some anxiety. no syringes/medical needles.

While not explicitly said to be an eating disorder, Betty describes a desire to lose weight due to pregnancy several times. A woman also tells a young girl to eat less (among other things) and that her “future self will thank [her]”, which could be triggering to those with eating disorders or those who are sensitive to that type of language.

It's debatable whether you could call it an anxiety attack but Candy does hyperventilate at times throughout the series when thinking about the crime she committed

s1 ep1: at approximately 3:40 a baby starts to cry, and its mother wakes up to change it. crying lasts until roughly 5:26. baby starts to cry again around 11:50 while Betty is on the phone with Candy. after that, the crying happens on and off throughout the episode every time you see Betty’s house. there is a scene of children loudly mimicking baby cries in a car. this could also be triggering.

One of the final shots in the show, while Candy is getting in the car, she looks directly at the camera. Some may feel like this is breaking the 4th wall but it's debatable.

a woman is murdered in episode 1, and it is later found out that she was also pregnant. Candy has several moments of guilt and panic throughout the series regarding it. these scenes may include triggers: closeups of baby toys/bottles, a still of it’s a girl/boy greeting cards on a shelf, and echoed sounds of children mimicking baby cries.

When the pregnant woman is expressing anxiety about finding out, her husband tells her to "take the second pill" and stop worrying. This is similar to some termination techniques, but it could have been something like an anxiety medication that I missed.

I think the baby's face is only clearly visible in episode one, when cooing. Baby is alive, and a couple months old. Discussion of babies and unborn children throughout.

A character expresses her insecurity about her weight, feeling like being fat is shameful. Nobody makes jokes about it though.

No slurs but an investigating officer, while doing a reenactment of a murder, makes a comment that homosexuals have a proclivity for eye mutilation in murder cases. It’s clearly meant to be a ridiculous statement from a time when homosexuality was the norm.

Candy’s bare backside is shown a few times, as is the side of her breast. No full-frontal nudity.

Masturbation on screen in bathtub. Vague discussions of sexual encounters and erotic fiction. Brief, nonsexual nudity in bathing scenes and a laundry scene. Sex scene, thrusting visible (episode 3, 19 minutes in).

I think Melanie Lynskey, who plays Betty, is wearing a fake pregnant belly in a flashback but not a fat suit.

It's initially assumed that the victim was shot, but she was actually killed with an axe. There are guns visibly carried in the first episode but they are never fired.
