The opening scene of the movie is someone commiting Hara-Kiri, or ritualistic suicide by self-disembowelment. The gore itself is not shown; the shot shows the man from above his chest, but the sound design is very gruesome, and the scene ends with him laying facedown in a large pool of blood.
