Stressful moment where one of the corgis is outside and surveillance camera shows a coyote approaching it. The dog is rescued, but it was a tense time, and I had to pause it and look up what happened in the written recap lol.
Deborah is a very rough mom and is often verbally abusive as well as neglectful. It’s not to an abhorrent degree by any means but it’s worth mentioning.
I don’t think the show itself means to represent autism in a bad way. DJ (Deborah’s daughter) had a failed essential oil business and there’s a joke where she says, “I didn’t say they would cure ALL autism!”
It’s more to make DJ look stupid than it is actually making fun of autism.
A woman trips and falls on her face. Her mouth is visibly bloody afterwards, and while it seems more like she cut her lip/chin (she's got stitches the next episode around her chin), she also mentions having chipped a tooth.
At the end of episode 3, Deborah catches a fish and then unhooks and releases it. Some may not consider fishing abuse but I thought I'd mention it for those that do. It didn't look like a real fish.
Within the first few minutes, Deborah happens upon an unidentifiable small animal that was presumably killed by coyotes. There are a few frames that focus on it.
a central theme of the episode is sexual harassment and predatory behavior towards female comedians. there is some discussion of assault/groping/drugging, but the only thing seen onscreen is verbal harassment.
an employee makes advances towards her boss, which is largely played for laughs. he says that he is “in a me too situation” with her and that he is “the me”
E6: safe! - slight scare around 25 mins, Ava doubles over in pain and it cuts to her in the bathroom with Deborah yelling, no v*, you just see Ava writhing in pain for a little.
It's a running theme that Marty, who's around his 70s, has frequently had younger wives/girlfriends during his life. Ava (in her 20s) has a dream about making out with Deborah (in her 70s). Deborah hooks up with a man twenty years younger than her at one point.
Lots of sprinkled sexual content in the whole show - she meets a couple ( episode 4 ) in a sex shop where she has to buy something (toy) to keep her car from being towed. Those three are in a pretty detailed sexual scene 14:07~ 15:01 ( it's the next scene after deb and ava leave bathroom ).
