More an abusive grandparent--Barney has a nightmare involving his verbally abusive grandmother, but the audience never hears the hateful things she says to him (represented by her opening her mouth and pointing at a distressed Barney, who CAN hear what she says).
The main villain first has an eye transformed where you see the entire eyeball vs the human part with eyelids. Soon after, he fully transforms into a demon form that can be considered body horror. Still, it's in the same style as the rest of the show, so it's not too disturbing imo.
No, but a subplot in Episode 4 sees Courtney chasing around Pugsley with a melon baller, with the stated goal of gouging his eyes out, which may be upsetting for those sensitive to even discussion of eye mutilation.
SPOILERS SEASON 2
in the last episode, at the end, Pugsley sacrifices himself, the death is not graphic and the dog is showed to be okay with his sacrifice, but it can still be upsetting to watch.
In episode 6 there's a brief scene with a doctor talking to patients in bed, but it's a fictional TV show and we skip over it quickly. Then in episode 8 there's a two minute long scene again at the set of the hospital.
A main character is autistic but doesn't suffer from specific abuse. In episode three she is mistreated because of her many fears, but that seems to be an abuse of her anxiety instead. Other, allistic characters are also targeted for this same abuse.
in episode 4 season 1 when barney is at the park he goes in a tunnel for kids, its a tight space but its very brief and he doesnt get stuck or anything. when you see that he gets near the tunnel, with a 10 seconds skip forward you wont see any of it
its very likely that after all those times being chased by demons, the characters have all pstd but there is no clear mention/representation of that in any way
This one isn't explicit and feels more like a wink at the show's older audiences, but there's a scene at the end of episode 1 where a female demon is sitting on a vibrating washing machine looking... just absolutely thrilled. They hold that shot for a full 3 seconds when the machine stops and she looks noticeably disappointed, saying, "Aw!"
