After the Winter Soldier/ Bucky pulls Steve from the Potomac, he watches to make sure Steve is still breathing, and then leaves before Steve can wake up.

Winter Soldier is definitely gaslit. He's told that he does not know Steve, that he just met him earlier on a mission.

The Winter Soldier is seen tied down in a chair with restraints at one point. Despite being in distress (he's about to undergo a memory wipe which is clearly shown to be extremely painful), little to no resisting occurs.

It's somewhat bloodier than some other MCU films, but I wouldn't necessarily call it "excessive gore". About the bloodiest it gets is when Nick Fury is seemingly killed.

Bucky Barnes is shown to have lost his left arm at the elbow during his fall from the train in 1945. Hydra surgeons are then shown to start cutting into the elbow to begin removing the remainder of the flesh arm to make way for the titanium arm with the red star. Then the scene shifts to Bucky waking up to his (then) new cybernetic arm. No literal damage to hands shown, but this may be connected enough for some people to be bothered by it.

A main character appears to have died (very dramatically on-screen) but is later revealed to be alive.

One of the characters is an amputee played by an actor who isn't, but the character has a bionic arm that functions much like a real one. The struggles of an amputee are not a major plot point for this movie.

The Winter Soldier is Bucky Barnes, who has been brainwashed, tortured, medically altered without his consent, wiped of his memories— and thus his identity and moral compass— each time they started to resurface, and treated as less than human for the entirety of his time as a POW held by and used as a weapon by Hydra. It is all absolutely depersonalization.

The Winter Soldier, although the reason he's violent/an antagonist is because he was brainwashed into doing so, not solely because he is mentally ill.

There are a couple of spy characters in the movie, so there's that. One rolls up on the main character right where he's located after a run, and it's clear that they didn't arrange that spot prior, as it's an emergent hostage extraction mission briefing he's being picked up for, but she does text him that she's about to pick him up, and they're friends/colleagues.

Another character is a mind controlled assassin, and snipes another character when they think they're in a safe-ish place, but there was definitely some time spent by the assassin laying in wait for the best possible shot, knowing his target was there.

One villain character 'complains' about a constituancy problem. When he goes on to describe the problem he says something like "23, kinda hot, really hot, wants to be a reporter i think, idk who listens at that point"

The other guy then comments that it doesnt sound like much of a problem

He then responds with "oh really? Cuz she killing my back"
For reference this is a middle age man

But i will say this is the first movie where they(directors/writers) really start to treat the black widow as a person and not soft corn

At the end, the main antagonist (who is actually a good guy, but was brainwashed to to bad things for evil people) escapes his imprisonment, and goes on the run. We don't see where he goes, but he wouldn't have a home to go to, at least for a while. He's not homeless by the next installment, at two years later, so there's hope to hold onto if that helps.

There’s a lot of these noises during the highway fight. You’ll know when it’s coming. Steve, Natasha, Sam, and Jasper Sitwell are in Sam’s car on the highway at the start of the scene.

Yes, Jasper Sitwell is thrown out of Sam’s car by The Winter Soldier and is hit by a semi truck immediately after. Sitwell’s body is not shown, and they never mention it again in the rest of the movie.

Lots of cars, buses, motorbikes, various types of airplanes. There's a lot of crashes in this movie.

Probably a little more than the usual amount of blood in Marvel films, yet still within the boundaries of PG-13. In general, this movie is a bit darker than many of the others in the series.

After the major fight scene at the end a character falls into the water unconscious and dragged out of the water, still unconscious.
