Maybe some mild neglect? A character who has children doesn’t seem to be at all concerned with their wellbeing or safety, she mostly treats them as burdens. This is sort of a running gag throughout the film. The kids get plenty of affection from other family members and no one hurts them physically.
Also, I think it’s worth noting here that the main character is the family scapegoat. However, she’s an adult in the beginning of the film so we don’t actually see it happening to her as a child.
