SPOIL!

The protagonist was pregnant when she was 15 and there's a scene that reoccurs all the time of her giving away the child to the caretakers

not strictly gaslighting in a typical sense but theres a very heavy vibe of "mentally ill (especially psychotic) people and abusers are actually just possessed and need help to be free of the devil" which. uncomfy in a gaslighty way

yes and it's pretty intense. it's a running theme - theres a lot of shouting, a mother rips her childs hair out, the child screams and is visibly terrified, theres door slamming and knocking. it is also done in a "the mother is possessed and it wasnt really her who abused the kid" way

Somewhat. There's flashes of injuries from past exorcisms and some of them are grotesque and involve needles/weapons. A minor character also mentions cutting herself.

there is one particularly graphic moment where a 10 year old girls has her hair telekinetically sucked into her mouth and it starts choking her. two priests actively try to pull it out but they cant. she ends up being okay, but it was very hard to watch and is a pretty extended sequence of events

There's child abuse and most of the possession scenes could be seen as torture, bones snapping out of place, wounds appearing, etc. Victims of possession clearly in pain.

No, but some of the ways the demon appears are similar to how ghosts tend to be shown in ghost films. Someone seen in a reflection, shadowy figure in a hall, someone there then they vanish, voices in the dark, etc.

Nobody vomits but there are a few scenes where people make motions or sounds that made me think they were about to vomit (but they didn’t). There was also a scene where Natalie choked on her hair and then a fist came out of her mouth, and that scene was hard to watch for someone with severe emetephobia but not terrible. Also Anne coughed up water towards the end. But no actual vomiting!

the entire movie is centred around a church-run "mental institution" which devolves fairly quickly behind closed doors into what's not much better than a prison for anyone possessed, including the main focus who is a 10 year old girl

All of the violent people are possessed, not mentally ill. There is a debate about whether some are possessed or mentally ill, but they all turn out to be possessed. It could still be distressing for someone with this trigger though.

No, but there's a part where the main character appears to think about it to safe a child from a demon. She realises her mother killed herself to safe her from a demon. She then takes the demon from the child into herself and in the struggle manages to jump into a well. If there hadn't been somone there to save her she would have drowned and it appears she knew she'd probably die before she did it.

I think it's a thin line. the movie is about institutionalising a lot of people claimed to be possessed who may just be mentally ill. theres a lot of talk of especially psychotic disorders being false diagnoses to cover demonic possession, and I think that even though in the film these characters are actually possessed, this is rhetoric used to abuse mentally and intellectually disabled people a lot so it can be uncomfy. the characters are explicitly told to ignore the victim themselves and focus on exercising the demon, which is. not great to hear considering the church is masquerading as a legitimate mental institution and has ambulances answering to it

it's definitely not conclusively happy in that (spoilers!) demons aren't eradicated and the protagonist still has to actively fight them. but it definitely rings more as hopeful to me than bleak, since she is capable of fighting back and seems confident in her abilities
