A main character injures himself with broken glass, it is not scene, but you do see blood on him after and another character suggests it was self inflicted
Not jokes but blackmail to expose bob as gay when B actually sexually assaulted him to get him to seem untrustworthy and kicked out of their church (bob is put on probation with the church and the assault/blackmail makes the trial of jan’s case difficult)
Jan doesn’t understand that what B was doing was wrong and doesn’t see why everyone is treating him like a bad person (stockholm syndrome, obviously in the end she knows the truth)
I guess? The cops are pretty useless since the brobergs were being pressured not to file a report but the fbi does everything they can to bring jan home and try B for what he did
The show is about the manipulation of a child by a pedophile, and the manipulation tactics the pedophile uses are very realistic and difficult to watch.
Karen tells Mary Ann that Susan fell off her bike and thinks she broke her arm. Susan's arm is visibly injured, but no bone is visible and we do not see the accident happen.
Jan goes along with everything B tells her because she believes that Susan will have to take her place (resulting in her death), and Karen will go blind if she fails.
It's revealed at the end of the final episode that Robert berchtold committed suicide in real life. One of the characters during the last few episodes almost commits suicide, but survives.
The show revolves around a pedophile manipulating and sexually assaulting a child, though they don't actually show her assault apart from a few second long flashback where you only see the ceiling. There is also a scene where an adult is pressured into performing a sexual act on someone else and it's heavily implied that he isn't giving consent.
A car window is shown broken open with blood on the glass. B also has a head injury with deep bruising and a small amount of blood trickling down from his hairline.
