I have no idea why anyone voted yes for this. As of 2025 on Netflix: There are 2 hunting dogs in a scene who are essentially background props and nothing happens to them (except for some rough tugging at their collars, which is s****y but certainly not death). At the climax of the movie, one of the dogs is with the men and horses racing to Dracula’s castle, but nothing is seen or indicated that anything happens to it either.
At 10:32, a wolf carcass is seen strung on a monument. It appears mummified. At 22:04 there is a polar bear rug At 57:31 there is an indistinguishable animal carcass with “maggots” (mealworms)
30ish minutes in Lucy is lured and assaulted by a werewolf-like being in a fairly graphic scene. after the 50 minute mark mina gets forcibly grabbed by the creep and it seems like it might happen but it doesn’t
When Dr.Seward is alone in his office after his first Renfield scene- the scene ends with a ship. When Dr.Seward visits Lucy when she's in her wedding dress- the scene ends with an approaching carriage. Later when Lucy's laying in bed in a red dress, Dr.van Helsing demands a blood transfusion- the scene ends once the men are standing outside.
In the middle of the film the titular character cuts himself so that Mina may drink his blood. Jonathan in the beginning also cuts himself however on accident.
If you consider Vampires harming the human they’re having sex with in a very erotic way sadistic, then yes (the human does not die, it is solely for the sexual experience)
