No animals die in episode 1 (Lot 36). A dead, skinned animal is seen at the beginning as it is butchered graphically, but it is meant to be a raccoon, not a dog. It is not clear what animal it’s supposed to be, so there is understandable confusion about this, in addition to people mistakenly leaving comments/votes for other episodes on this episode page. No dog dies in this episode

The very first scene shows a deranged man butchering a skinned dead cat or a raccoon. It is unknown where did he get it though.

Previous comments are for episodes 2 and 4. This page is for episode 1 (Lot 36) only. No animals die in this episode. A man is shown butchering (meaning cutting up the meat for eating) what is meant to be a dead racoon, but you can't really tell what animal it is. (I only know because I follow the FX artists on social media.) I might have thought it was a cat or small dog if I didn't know.

It’s not a cat. If know animal anatomy you can tell it’s a raccoon skull. Still gory but not a cat.

Not of humans, but an animal's body is cut up in the first scene.

People who voted yes are probably confusing this episode (episode 1, Lot 36) with episode 2 (Graveyard Rats).

Not specifically eye mutilation SPOILER there is a disfigured human near the end of the film who has had their face completely sunken in. We also see a close up of the dead eyes of an animal at the beginning.

Reminder this page is just for episode one. A monster kills people but no one is tortured.

No, but it is implied that the character has thrown away many sentimental items belonging to an older woman.

While the protagonist does mention being a soldier in the Vietnam war and how that shaped him, he never displays any overt symptoms of PTSD.

Guts of a dead animal are shown in the opening scene. The occult table is hinted to have been painted with a dye containing human blood.
