Kind of. Characters start acting unlike themselves and they get black eyes. It is never explained why this happens, but it's implied that someone is controlling them.

Aurelio is a demigod of fire, but unlike his siblings, he is not impervious to fire. His mother Lumbre intentionally burned parts of his skin to try to toughen him up.

Debatable. There is a trial where participants have to separate alebrije babies from their mother. The separation is temporary, but the mother is very upset and defends her babies.

Pre book, yes. There has been a ritual sacrifice that's been going on for centuries that involves stabbing someone else.

The whole story is about the sunbearer trials, wich are used to choose which participant will be sacrificed to save the world.
There are also several instances of characters being willing to sacrifice themselves in order to save their friends.
But (spoiler ahead) no one is actually sacrificed in the book, besides Paloma, who died prior to the events of the book.

The main character is trans and several other characters are, and not a single person misgenders any of them or thinks it's abnormal, even bullies who are actively making fun of the main character. The world is extremely trans and queer accepting. He doesn't get forcibly outed, and his being trans is just a part of who he is and he's very comfortable with it.

The book's setting has a hierarchy between demigods who are golds and those who are jades. The hate speech is usually that jades are not worthy, weaker, etc.

Blood is fairly mild generally. Folks get small cuts on their hands pretty frequently and other minor cuts. The main character repeatedly pushes his body past its limits so there's often descriptions of pain, and he often lands wrong on his wings but there is no bone breaking. Everyone has healing powers, so they heal fairly quickly.
