Alienated teen Pauline struggles with the pressures of fitting into high school, pleasing her mother and a burning desire to lose her virginity. With a grotesque curiosity for the darker side of life, Pauline is considered a social outcast by everyone around her. Enticed by flesh, she retreats into her own fantasies and hopes to become a great surgeon - that is, if she doesn't go insane first.
This movie contains 31 potentially triggering events.
The mother is very verbally abusive toward the main character. The main character is also badly neglected, both medically and emotionally, by her parents. This is a major plot point.
No,but in the beginning of the movie the main character is having another dream. Throughout the movie this will happen. But the main character is a violent psychosexual. And in that dream it shows two of themselves sitting across from each other. One just sitting there and the other is aggressively spitting up a lot of blood, convulsing, and her eyes are rolled back. It’s uncomfortable to watch because you can hear her moaning in the background.
It’s a bit gory, but not too in your face. I still wouldn’t suggest this if you’re sensitive to gore/blood. You’ll see tongues ripped out and a bloody surgery scene performed by the main character.
i'm guessing everyone voted no cuz it's only mentioned in passing, but the guy pauline has sex with has a girlfriend, and she dumps him offscreen after finding out he slept with pauline
A character has a graphic fantasy of pulling a bloody fetus from between their legs before putting it in a microwave and making it explode. So, uh, I guess.
The main character has violent psychosexual fantasies. In some of these fantasies people are nude. I don’t think people were ever fully nude? I just remember seeing a lot of females breasts.
