A cat. Horrifically. Starting from a little past 24 minutes and ending a little past 32 minutes. You hear and see everything when a cat is hit by a truck, breaks its leg, is mercy killed with a knife, and then its body is taken away by some kind of animal control/cops.

Just after 31 minutes, mice are put in a maze with burners underneath. A mouse is heard dying but not seen dying. The scene is over at 33 minutes. Basically the point of the scene is to show that Yuno instructed a young kid how to kill a peer.

It is very obviously a cgi cat but it’s still extremely horrific and distressing. The cat screams and has blood on it after being hit by a truck. You see its mangled leg and how it hobbles around as the MC tries to figure out what to do about it. She eventually mercy kills it with a knife. It lasts several minutes unfortunately, from about a little after the 24 minute mark to a bit past the 32 minute mark. Extra unfortunately, there are other scenes interspersed between the cat scenes so I suggest watching while muted with the subs on so you can cover the main part of the screen and still read what is being said between the two characters.

Spoilers. I guess it could count because a man is killed by having his head smashed against the wall of a silo until his face is a bloody smear. Then there’s a wide shot of what appears to be the murderer riding his body down the silo stairs like a surfboard. Either that or he’s dragging it behind him. It’s a very wide shot so there’s not many details shown. But the head crushing is more blatant. We don’t see the aftermath of either attack in too much detail tho
