A mother pig lives in fear as her babies are regularly taken from her to be killed. We hear one scream off-screen when he dies, and see the pigs trembling whenever someone comes in. Guinea pigs frequently die from neglect in a hoarding situation. Birds are kept crammed in very small cages. All these animals end up being rescued and/or set free.

SPOILERS!
A few pet snails die. Two guinea pig pets having sex (I'm not making this up, it's shown in the movie) get squashed by a shelf, as stated above, and one of their "hands" is sticking out of the rubble and a pool of blood grows. There's then a sort of a grave for them, with the now-severed "hand" visible.

Fingers get broken, which of course are part of hands, on two or three occasions. One finger is severed by accident by a ceiling fan, with blood splattering onto the screen and a bit from the finger and hand itself. The others are dislocations, still visually shown, but with no blood/gore that I remember.

The words "w#nker," "d##khead," "sh#t," and "b#st#rd", to my memory. I may have forgotten some, because cussing personally doesn't offend me, but I wanted to help people who wanted to know. There were no uses of the "F" word, so I don't get why Australia put a "coarse language" warning under the M rating.

It's worth noting that the writer/director himself is gay, and the film is not homophobic; the slur and depictions of homophobia are fully in context.
I don't think it's well-known in America, but one character is once called a "poofter" in a schoolyard (there are no other homophobic slurs), which here in Australia is a slur that gets thrown around by homophobes. The "F" slur is not used.
But homophobia becomes a theme in the film.

MODERATE SPOILERS BELOW
becoming a stereotype of (I can't remember the exact words but the sentiment was) she'd be a lonely lady with pets around her and no romance. She seems to implicitly think that it's bad if someone doesn't experience romance, and says such things in the narration for a short while, on and off, until she finds someone she takes an interest in.

One elderly character used to be a stripper (shown in pasties and underwear), an orgy in the dark (with expressive eyes shown only and moaning heard), two guinea pigs have a**l sex on multiple occasions (it's a bit of a running gag in the film),
There are one or two depictions of sex (one shows the man's bare chest as the camera POV "thrusts" up and down; another shows a clothed man and woman having sex behind a building); there are verbal sexual references also peppered through the film
and MILD SPOILERS a judge is put out of his job because he masturbated during a court case; he hides beneath whatever you call the lawyer platform thing and his head bobs up and down, but the narration makes it very clear what is happening.

An adult Grace falls in love with someone who later it turns out that the man she'd fallen in love with only liked her for her fat and for her body, shown with pictures of her in a scrapbook.
He is shown taking these pictures earlier, but we don't know until much later that it's for this purpose and that he doesn't love her, and he intentionally adds fat to meals to add weight to her. She throws him out of the house after this, and divorces him.

Yes, occasionally. A person's finger is accidentally severed by a fan, with blood splattering briefly, including onto the camera. I apologise if I accidentally forgot anything else. In America I believe the R rating lists "some violent content" at the end of the description, and I'm guessing that was it; "violent content" didn't appear in the consumer advice here in Australia, probably because it was an accident, so it fit under "mature themes".
