*SPOILERS* There's a character who's either a wolf-human hybrid or an anthropomorfic wolf, who dies by poisoning in one music video, if that counts. Though he's most likely just meant to be nothing more than a metaphor for a child predator human man.
*SPOILERS* a wolf-human hybrid or anthropomorfic wolf character not only dies by poisoning but is also attacked by the main character and gets milk poured onto him all this while agonizing and then finally dying. Not as bad as it may sound since it's very brief and said character is an absolute monster who had it coming.
Yes. *SPOILERS* The whole premise of the Cry Baby album is about its child protagonist being abused, mistreated, neglected and abandoned by almost everyone they meet during the entire course of the story, up to and incluiding their own parents.
*SPOILERS* In the Sippy Cup music video the main character's mother ties up and murders her husband and his mistress in their kitchen, then, when the main character finds their corpses their mother knocks them unconscious with chloroform, kidnaps them, ties them up in their bed and drugs them so they fall unconscious and forget what they just saw and think it was all just a dream.
In the Carousel music video there's very brief shots of a tattooed man wearing a skirt and having a colorful goatee, but he's probably meant to be a symbollic representation of the protagonist and it's not meant to be a joke.
*SPOILERS* It's implied in the Milk and Cookies music video that the Big Bad Wolf character while being an antropomorphized wolf is also a clear metaphor for a human child predator man is a cannibal by the visuals of Cry Baby's disembodied head inside a glass dome with ice cream on her head, with this implied to be her fate had she not escaped from him.
The whole album is about it's protagonist gradually growing more and more insane and deranged due to the traumatic events and life experiences they had at such a young age and in a short span of time, which also gave them violent and sadistic tendencies which they display every now and then in both music videos and lyrics. The protagonist is also not the only one, since they live in a dystopical insane world full of people similar to them.
*SPOILER* More or less, Cry Baby is briefly seen in a psychiatrist's office in a dream in the last music video. Said particular psychiatrist themself is depicted as ill-intentioned and evil so the job in itself is not being disrespected.
*SPOILERS* The very first seconds of the first music video display the protagonist being born, in pretty anxiety-inducing and suspenseful fashion. Nothing graphic is shown though.
Lots of songs talk about sensitive body image issues and mental health allusions, but none of the messages of the album are ill-intentioned, they are meant to be metaphorical and to raise awareness about real world daily issues.
*SPOILERS* In Sippy Cup music video, Cry Baby's father and his mistress are tied up in chairs, and near the end of the music video Cry Baby is tied up by her limbs in her bed.
In the Pity Party music video teddy bears have their limbs and heads cutt off and their torsos teared open and baloons are popped with knives. And in the Pacify Her music video dolls have their heads pulled off. The Dollhouse music video also features creepy disfigured baby doll heads and a baby doll arms and eyes forming a necklace.
*SPOILERS* in the Sippy Cup music video the main character's mother finally has evidence that her husband, the main character's father, is cheating on her and ties both her husband and his mistress in chairs and kills both of them with a knife. The murder is mainly offscreen with only the mother's first stab and the aftermath of it shown. Worse, the main character, the father's child, finds the corpses, freaks out about it and loses their innocence over the fact.
Yes. *SPOILERS* the main character, who's a toddler no older than likely the age of 3, is kidnapped by a child predator in one song/music video and in the next music video we see said character in capitivity being turned into a slave and with implied r*pe and incoming death in the hands of their captor. None of these events are treated as a good thing, obviously.
*SPOILERS* The main character's father is constantly cheating on her mother with at least one other woman. It's one of the album's major plot points and themes.
*SPOILERS* All of Cry Baby's family, including herself later on, are avid smokers. Her parents both smoke cigarettes and her mother is also an alcoholic, while both her and her brother smoke weed.
*SPOILERS* The main character, in the first music video right after being born is crying as any newborn baby should, but their abusive, neglectful mother quickly grows annoyed at it, calling them a "crybaby", hence their given name.
Not a male character, but the protagonist is a girl who says in the first song/music video that she is constantly being bullied and mocked by other children due to having an emotional nature leading her to cry when being overwhelmed and thus being called a "crybaby" which also happens to be her real name. It can hit too close to home to some of the men or boys listening/watching it.
Not actually. *SPOILERS* the main character gets drugged by two mysterious women in the last music video, falls asleep and wakes up with completely black eyes just like the two mysterious women she saw before falling asleep, while breathing heavily and looking scared and nervous and while being touched on the arms by both women. To some people, it may feel like possession.
Several drugs are used or otherwise mentioned in both music videos and song lyrics. *SPOILERS* Most notably the main character's family all smoke, the only difference with the main character's brother is that he smokes cannabis, while the others smoke cigarettes, the mother is also an alcoholic who drowns her sorrows in alcohol to forget her husband's infidelity, she also seems to possess and understand a lot about a bunch of different drugs possibly due to her husband being implied to work at an "drug company" and having many contacts with shady individuals. The main character gets drugged unconscious three times and is later shown following the bad influence left by her family, smoking both cigarettes and cannabis in later music videos.
Yes. *SPOILERS* the main character is kidnapped by a child predator in one song/music video and in the next music video we see said character in capitivity being turned into a slave and with implied r*pe and incoming death in the hands of their captor. None of these events are treated as a good thing, obviously
The last song Mad Hatter features a lot of synonms and terms about insanity while alluding to mental illnesses (such as crazy, bonkers, mad, psycho, etc.). But it's not meant to be literal, the song is about being yourself and not caring about what society thinks of you and embracing your own insane self and being proud about what makes you unique as a person even if other people see you as "crazy" because of it.
Yes. *SPOILERS* Sippy Cup's lyrics seem to be narrating about the protagonist's mother and the great lengths she goes to satisfy society's beauty standards on women, to the point of destroying her self-esteem and putting her own health at risk. Mrs. Potato Head is all about the above, with it's focus now on plastic surgery and the harsh consequences of changing one's own appearance to please other people's expectations on them. The music video even shows in graphic detail the nasty side of plastic surgery, and the aftermath of failing to attain the intended appearance and the permanent consequences it has on one's body and life. None of this is meant to insult plastic surgery or people who had gone through it, they're both more like cautionary songs that talk about real world issues, which may still trigger a lot of people.
*SPOILERS* In the Pity Party music video Cry Baby at one point dresses up like a clown and wears clown-like facial make up, to act like a children's party clown to her stuffed animals. There's no ill intention behind it, but the character goes insane and has a mental breakdown while still in the clown costume in some shots, which might be unsettling.
