In 1995, seventeen-year-old Isabel Baker was murdered. The crime shocked the small town of Ashford and devastated Isabel's Australian South Sea Islander community. The case was never solved, the killer never found. In 2020, the opening of a time capsule unearths a secret that puts cold-case detective James Cormack on the trail of the killer.

s1e6 about 9min in, jump cut from grown up hazel and joe talking (him telling her she needs to tell kalana about her father) to another dead boar being loaded into a truck by anton's father
s2e2 cormack is eating on a balcony and we get multiple closeups of his steak. then, next scene, around 23min in, he's watching a video of his family fishing and there are multiple disturbing closeups of dead fish and children playing with the dead fish, and this is treated as charming and cute and fun, rather than disturbing. in one closeup, the camera looks in the dead mouth of the dead fish.

I guess this is debatable; the main character is a detective but I don’t think the show goes out of its way to paint all cops in a good light. Some of them are shown to be lousy.
