SPOILER - eventually, the donkey's luck runs out. The film fades to black just before it happens, but you hear an ominous enough sound. Foxes are killed during a scene in a fur farm (the killing itself happens off of screen, but again you hear the tell-tale sounds), cattle are herded into an abattoir, a wolf is mortally wounded and a bird flies into a wind turbine.

There are multiple sequences of animals being mistreated and/or exploited by humans (eg: foxes in cages on a fur farm, cattle being herded for slaughter). What is shown onscreen is fairly moderate, but likely to upset those sensitive to such content. EO himself is threatened with a whip, has a violent encounter with some football hooligans and falls into the hands of an underground meat trade.
