While we don't see the violent, perverse act of Lu's dog being murdered, we do see the insanely graphic aftermath of the murder. Lu returns from fishing "illegally" to find his poor dog has been stabbed/slashed to death while tied up on the beach (for his safety) waiting for Lu to return. We see the dog's bloodied, stabbed body lying dead on the beach having been violently stabbed to death.
