SPOILERS!!! The main antagonist was forced to obtain the role of his younger sister after she dies when they are younger and is abused when he refuses. He then kills his parents and years later kidnaps girls and locks them up and makes them "be" his younger sister Carrie Anne.

When Elissa goes to the party with Tyler after her mom picks up her first night shift, he becomes drunk and attempts to force himself on her in a spare bedroom despite her saying no and telling her to get off of him. He does let her go after trying to push himself on her multiple times, but it's still a scene that can very easily not be fun to view.

The plot itself is ableist in multiple ways. The initial set up is that a young girl with a brain disorder murdered her parents a couple years before and townspeople are afraid she's still hiding out in the woods. More Details & Spoilers: The original backstory of the child is that she got a traumatic brain injury that turned her violent. Some twists reveal that it was actually childhood trauma that turned the child violent, and the child goes on to violently abuse and manipulate others.

Yes, in the sense that while the main character lives, the bad guy who was really just a victim og child abuse himself is locked away in an institution. Also, all the horrible neighbours who hate on the (as we believe at the time) poor kid whose family dies and only care about property value and think it fine to burn down the house of an outcast - well, the movies deems them all right.
