There are dogs in the towns throughout the world, and two of these towns are destroyed. The dogs cannot be found again afterward, but it is not shown what actually happened to them.
In an optional sidequest, a character may hold a blade to his own neck with the intent of suicide. The player is given a choice to stop him or not, but choosing not to stop him just causes a different character to stop him instead.
Rabbits and hares are occasional enemy encounters. The fighting in this game is abstracted to "hit them until their HP reaches 0", so the harm is mostly implied. No rabbits are depicted outside of these random battles.
A major theme of the story is that one of the party members has been raised to believe she must sacrifice herself for the good of the world. She very nearly goes through with it, but ultimately survives (partly due to the whole premise of this "sacrifice" being a sham anyway).
In one level, a minor character jumps in front of a lightning bolt to save a party member and dies as a result. They can be found reincarnated later.
In a later level, several party members risk their own safety to ensure the protagonist can continue, and are left behind, seemingly lost. However, they all return just in time to fight the level's boss.
There is an instance of a character cutting themselves to reveal their location (they were invisible to others at the time). No detailed animation is played, and it simply results in a red pool at their feet.
Nothing too raunchy, but there are some jokes and mentions of breasts and the like, plus a party member who flirts with women a lot. There are no sex scenes, and characters are dressed in towels or swimsuit equivalents at minimum.
