One animal gets squeezed and hurt, however they’re fine afterwards because of their biology, and the thing that did it really didn’t do it out of malice. Abuse can be loosely inferred by a character holding up a child’s pet fox creature by the scruff and calling it worthless. It is not harmed.

Small bones and teeth are made into a necklace for the child to wear in remembrance.
