More of as a joke than anything. There's a kid in the game that annoys the player and the main character Sumio Mondo. there's a 4th wall break of the kid making fun of the player if Sumio hits him ("Let's see how society reacts to graphic child abuse!") Sumio hits him upside the head in order to teach him respect, he fake cries to trick Sumio but he's fine.
