At some point, one of the characters has to wear a dress to solve the situation. When the Father João (a ridiculous and unreliable priest) eventually finds out, he starts pointing it out as a sin.
The one-eyed beggar in the village is constantly disregarded in the first act. The film laughs of the villagers' hypocrisy towards him and portrays their behaviour as negative and damageable.
As most of the characters are caricatures of typical Brazilian nobodies, a lot of them have negative stereotypes regarding other communities.
Most of the time, the story proves them wrong
