after many many MANY close calls, the dog does not die! My anxiety was on edge this whole movie because no one had posted this yet, Would have enjoyed it a lot more had I known the pup was going to be okay
I have not found anything that either admits or denies any animals being harmed in the making of this film. I am still searching for an answer to this.
Just a warning, the monsters are covered in fuzz, have long limbs, and move in an erratic way that might be triggering to people afraid of tarantulas. Especially when the monsters are in a pack.
The bugs mentioned in the comment are definitely some kind of large roaches. Started to watch thinking they would just be beetles based on this, and had to turn it off
One brother gets into an argument with the other and then ends up choking him for about 5-10 seconds on the ground. He releases the brother, and everyone is ok.
Not really buried alive, but the father and one brother end up in a cave that collapses and the brother is shown digging/crawling out from the ground pulling his unconscious father.
The other commenter is incorrect. A main character is kidnapped at one point and is nearly tortured by his captor before a big incident happens that leads to his escape. Major plot point.
I don't know why there was someone marking 'yes' for all of these and some of the other triggers. There are zero openly queer characters in the film, and no references toward any sexual/gender minority (or another form of minority) are made/suggested.
