A dog's corpse is shown held in the arms of its dead owner. One of the sled dogs, Digger is killed off-screen by wolves. White Fang's mother dies after returning to their den with a gunshot wound. It's implied that some of the dogs White Fang was forced to fight died from their injuries.

All the perilous scenes involving animals were staged, and the film was endorsed by the American Humane Association.

Not in a negative way. Jack chases off White Fang so he can live free in the wild, but he has to act threatening so it's a sad scene. They happily reunite at the end.

As a pup, White Fang snuggles with his dead mother and howls when he realizes he's alone. Multiple dogs whine and seem sad when they're defeated in fights. White Fang is also confused and whines when Jack forces him to return to the wild.
