It's hard to definitively call it "sad" or "happy", I think it realistically fits somewhere in that murky inbetween zone. That said, I think it certainly takes a darker turn than a lot of people would expect.

There are a few enemy types that use firearms mostly made of stuff that's ended up in the ocean. There is also a more realistic handgun that can be turned on and off as an assist feature that can be used to instantly kill any enemy.
