Neglect is a form of abuse, and the way the mother was going about it, I would consider this abuse. Especially the "drag us down with her" line. And especially with the father repeatedly reminding the mom that she had more than one child.

While there is no explicitly sexual contact, there is definitely sexual overtones during an assault and iirc, the attacker does kiss the victim. Additionally, there's a discussion about how someone at the teens' school had her nude photos sent to other students without her permission.
